The Outage Achieved NothingI did the scheduled maintainence on my server as planned and booted into a very broken system. I then had to go completely offline to load a backup, after I had determined this was the only way of recovery. Sadly this means I will have to do more maintainence next week on the 28th of November. There was a small period where the server was online and serving customers sites, before I was aware of some serious problems. I took a special effort to downgrade everything but the database, home directories, and web directories. This means no data has been lost from the system. |
